Beautiful Kim. You echo a conversation I shared this morning with fellow Substacker Veronika bond. She was talking about Kairos vs. Kronos time, and how instead of pushing for growth and putting it on a linear timeline/deadline, it’s more natural and healing to trust in Kairos or the “opportune moment,” like when a seed finally decides to sprout when rain, sun and the seasons align. Your sense of emergence is perfectly unfolding and I love that you can feel it happening, no need to do anything but let it.:)
I'm happy to say that as a reader, I've witnessed the shifting sands turning more solid, the growth and the evolution of your publication-which is you, dear Kim.
As a long-time yoga practitioner and teacher, one of the many truths I love about the Goddess teachings is that we carry all the goddess energies within us. Yet, we can call upon each archetype as needed and desired. Growth and evolution are both a never-ending process and a gift. Kali on!
I wonder if "the hibernation" also corresponds with menopause? Is it the need to go within, to deal with all the mania our bodies are dealing with, notwithstanding all the external factors too!
I suspect I have Kali energy too and it needs careful management. Gardening has helped no end. Many of my seeds are going gangbusters while others seem less keen to get going. Mysterious!
I'm going to work on a good balance this time around. Sparks of Kali, with a dash of Durga and a few others thrown in for good measure. As you say, careful management of Kali energy is what I was lacking before. It made me a fantastic workaholic though.
(I just planted a new batch of seeds yesterday. I'm so excited to see how they fair.)
Thanks Tracey. I love it too. The fact that I'm watching my real life seeds start to pop up out of the earth and shoot for the light has really made the visual visceral for me these days.
Oh Kim, I'm finding it hard to contain myself as I read this. I want to hoot and holler, but Rick is asleep. I absolutely love this post. I've been with you since early on, and it's such a delight to see the growth, the healing and the blossoming of your spirit. Rock on, my yogi sister. 💕
Haha, thank-you Sue. This made me smile! I've been resisting this energy inside me because I wanted to be all zen and yogi like, but I realize now, it's part of who I am and denying it isn't helpful. It feels so good to see it coming back to life. xo
1) Are you Khaleesi or the yoga guy, or somewhere in between?
2) If you’ve ever found yourself in a state of wintering, how did you know when you were coming out of it? Did it stick?
3) What are you doing these days to keep your spirits up?
So glad you’ve rediscovered yourself. It shows too.
I’ve been wintering literally. There’s nothing like the sun shining and a glimpse of spring to lift my spirits.
The nursery is open at Home Depot. Time to shop— need to give the house more curb appeal anyway for going on the market.
Yahoo Kim, this is awesome! Your work the past couple years has been amazing for us to read so I can't wait to see what's coming!

Kim, I wrote an essay about this "spark" and I hope it's okay to post the link here--particularly after reading your comment on "Last Dance". Here's my essay on the "spark" delayed: https://marytabor.substack.com/p/why-i-came-to-writing-so-late
Thanks Mary. I’d love to read it but it’s behind the paywall. (Likely archived!)

Thank-you so much for your kind words and goddess wisdom Paulette!
I'm happy to share the connection of yoga with you, Kim.

That's a really strong possibility and makes alot of sense!
So pleased your spark is coming back!

I love the visual of starting your yoga class as a tiny seed whilst in childs pose. Wishing you much abundance as you plant your seeds :)

Just lovely, new growth happening in every direction ❤️

I LOVE THIS, KIM. (So much so that all caps felt appropriate!)
Thanks Maddie. I could hear you all the way in Canada! :)
Hello and welcome Karen.
