On Birthdays and Family Traditions

May is the month of birthdays in our family.

Our ‘Happy Birthday’ sign would go up on the 4^th of May and I would leave it up for the remainder of the month. Each new week would bring a new birthday to celebrate—mine, my youngest son, my daughter and then my mother-in-law.
